Bradford Creek Golf Course, managed by Billy Casper Golf (BCG), has named Jonathon McLawhorn as Head Golf Pro.
The Methodist University alumnus will run all instructional programs at Bradford Creek including junior golf camps and clinics as well as group and individual instruction. McLawhorn was inducted as a member of the Professional Golfers Association in February 2018.
A Vanceboro, N.C., native, McLawhorn attended West Craven High School where he was a four-year member of the golf team. Raised just 30 miles from Greenville, he played Bradford Creek often growing up and even competed as a member of the course’s team in the Eastern North Carolina Junior Golf League.
“Jonathon’s enthusiasm and high golf IQ will serve him well,” says Chip Harris, BCG Regional Manager. “He will play a vital role in our endeavor to reinvigorate golf programming and attract new audiences to Bradford Creek.”
The first program that has been developed is a Nine and Wine event to coincide with National Women's Golf Day on Tuesday, June 5th. For $35 ladies will enjoy a short game clinic prior to playing nine holes and will end the evening with a glass (or two) of wine.
We are excited to have Jon as part of our team here at Bradford Creek as it will allow us to offer instruction and develop new fun golf programs for players of all skill levels. It also allows us to continue and improve our junior golf programs.
This year we will be offering at least two four-day junior golf camps aimed at kids ages 5-13. The camps will run Monday - Thursday and will allow kids to explore all facets of golf. The first camp is scheduled to begin on June 18th, with another camp in July and possibly August.
All these events can be found on our course calendar and registration can be completed by choosing the event and RSVPing with a Yes.
